Over the weekend Hong Kong pulled me out of my bubble and it reminded me what a phenomenal city it is.
I had my first chance to play host since moving here with a friend in town.
Despite Hong Kong doing its absolute best to make it a washout (warm up for the super-typhoon 🌀 this week) still managed to tick off the classics:
↳ Found a gap in the rain to hike the Peak
↳ Few drinks in Tai Kwun and around Central
↳ Get the Star Ferry Pier to TST
Watching someone else see it for the first time makes you realise what an unique place it really is.

Hong Kong from TST side
Is there anywhere else in the world remotely like it?
My note to self for the week is to take more note of the surroundings and be a bit more appreciative of 🇭🇰
This is probably applicable for anyone who lives anywhere other than home.
It's so easy when you're a million miles per hour in the week to get caught up in the grind and end up going through the motions.
And if you're just doing that, what's the point in living abroad?
In the meantime, here’s our priority roles for the week 😎

FAQ - How’s the Market Looking? - September 2025
Our most frequently asked question. It’s hard to be specific as we work across multiple markets and verticals but the general gist is that we remain in a client-driven market.
Put simply: Supply (applicants looking) outweighs demand (jobs available).
This tighter market is reflected in the downward results of the large Recruitment PLCs and something we anticipate to carry over into the first part of 2026.
Our advice is to stay consistent, build an online presence and go off-LinkedIn as much as possible when applying for new positions.
We’ve previously written about the importance of staying visible, patience and breaking through in crowded markets.
