I know it's not popular to like LinkedIn but I think it's great for 99% of us for this one simple reason:

𝗜𝘁 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀:

↳ Working across global markets means little consistency in CV styles and format.

↳ Standards and what is expected on a CV vary massively across countries and industries.

↳ Some CVs are so poorly presented that I know they have a 0% chance of success.

𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗜𝗻, 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱:

↳ Ensures continuity as they all follow the same in-built template.

↳ Digital and easier to follow/share/update.

↳ Works to sell you, passively 24/7 and allows you to present a version of yourself beyond the traditional CV.

Don't get me wrong, 𝘁𝗵e 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀.

Equally, it's hard to imagine a hiring process that doesn't involve LinkedIn in some capacity. It's here to stay and neglecting it comes at your own detriment.
