What is Saudi Arabia really like?

For lots of people around the world, Saudi Arabia, still proves a bit of an enigma.

Although it’s increasingly finding itself at the centre of attention with sports, politics and tourism, this is still a country that 4 years ago, allowed tourist visas for the first time ever.

So, what’s it really like in Saudi Arabia?

I’ve been lucky enough to visit on multiple occasions and some of our biggest clients are based in Riyadh.

Some of the biggest takeaways I’ve encountered would be this:

It works at a different pace to Dubai. Things in Riyadh are much calmer than the hectic 100 MPH nature of living in Dubai. It requires a softer skillset and a touch more patience at times when it comes to work.
It also has a very young and nationalistic population who are all committed to the growth of KSA on the global stage. The latest KSA Census showed that 63 percent of Saudis are under 30 years old. This gives a real energy to the place.
The scope and scale of what they are looking to achieve is mind-blowing. Being on the ground and seeing the amount of construction works taking place is testament to the work happening behind the scenes.

Where living in the UAE carries a very international feel, thanks to the nearly 90 per cent expat population, living in Saudi is unmistakably Saudi.

Its appeal is definitely more traditionally aligned with Middle Eastern values and for some people this might be a real attraction.

Job of the Week.

We are looking for a UAE Based Digital Copywriter from a preferred agency background to come onboard and work for one of our clients with offices in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The successful candidate will write and edit persuasive and engaging copy for digital channels, including websites, email campaigns, social media etc.

We are looking for someone with proven experience as a Digital Copywriter or similar role, strong writing and editing skills with a portfolio of digital content samples as well as an understanding of digital marketing, SEO, and content strategy.

An up-to-date portfolio is essential for this position.
