If you're new here, let me reintroduce myself.
I'm Charlie, the Global CEO of MCG Talent.
My marketing team says I don’t post about myself enough so, you’ll excuse me this week if I try and rectify that.

Live and direct from our Dubai office.
I began my career in recruitment in London. 5 days a week in the office, a landline phone and 200+ calls a day. It taught me a lot.
Post-covid, I made the decision to move to Dubai which ended up being one of the best decisions I ever made.
On both a professional and personal level, being exposed to such a wide range of nationalities and diverging beliefs challenges you in ways you didn’t know possible.
It ultimately makes you a much better person and I think that’s the biggest selling point to living somewhere like the UAE - as opposed to it being sunny and tax-free.
I absolutely loved my time there and continue to serve our clients and help candidates relocate across the GCC.
A few years later, I made the jump to Asia. I knew it was time for a new challenge and I missed the energy of a big city - Hong Kong felt like a logical choice.
Last year, I undertook an MBO to purchase MCG Talent - which this year extended to our Middle East operations which I know so well.
We’ve got big plans for the coming year and last year we helped place talent across 14 countries in MENA and APAC.
For a boutique business like ours, that’s something we’re pretty proud of.
It involves a lot of currency conversions, calculating time differences, dialling codes and adapting to cultural norms but it’s something we’ve become experts at.
I’ve personally relocated people to the Middle East from every continent on the planet apart from Antarctica (one day).

Hong Kong!
We absolutely love what we do. The dopamine rush from getting someone a new role is as strong today as it was a decade ago when I started out.
This Newsletter is our attempt to try and bridge the gap between the thousands of people that apply to our global openings and us.
We’re still working on getting it 100% right and making sure everyone feels heard.
I can’t speak to or respond to everyone that reaches out to us - it’s unfortunate but also mathematically impossible.
I can give you all the information I know about breaking into markets like Dubai.
