Quick One - This week, in our Premium Tier, I’ll be breaking down your most asked question: How do I move to Dubai without any regional experience?

We’ll Cover:

  • How to stand out from the masses of applicants

  • What I’d recommend you lead with in all applications

  • Getting interviews away from LinkedIn (hidden channels that work)

  • Where to target to be effective and secure quick wins.

I’ll reveal all and you can check it out here 👈🏻

P.S. The Social Team are running a 50% discount for the next 5 people.

Coming into the New Year I have been determined to get things right.

After a phenomenal break over Christmas I realised the difference in my headspace between 'rested' me and ‘not rested' me was night and day.

Coming back at the start of January, I wanted to try and preserve the good feeling I had for as long as possible.

I realised a huge part of why I drifted away from my normal state was my unhealthy relationship with technology - namely my phone.

This was further hammered home when I listened to a fantastic podcast by Morgan Housel where he says to look at some of the major inventions of the last century.

Air Conditioning, refrigeration, air travel, antibiotics, radio = undisputedly improved life. Who could argue against that?

What about phones and the internet?

Pretty unique in that they created a long list of things that also got worse because of them.

How long before we can add AI into that category too?

My core issue is that in Sales/Recruitment you're drilled to always be on your phone and that creates an air of being busy which I found ends up being performative. I’m sure it’s the same for a lot of other industries too.

When you start anything it takes a long time to complete a task.

Over time and through reps/experience you shorten the time you have to spend on an activity before you get X result.

This version of myself usually needs to spend less time performing a task - in Recruitment - before I can get a desired result than the version of me when I started the job.

This has over time created a scenario where I’m used to being on my phone for longer stretches but now not all of that is ‘work’ related.

To fill the gap I ended up picking up some unhealthy habits which I confronted head on.

↳ Is me doomscrolling LinkedIn really productive?

↳ Is Instagram Reels really a break or just more screen time?

So, long story short I've gone cold turkey and I feel 1000% better for it.

- At the start of the year I deleted all of my social apps bar Instagram and LinkedIn.

- I now only access those through my laptop.

- My screen time has halved from Q4 2025.

- I'm more present in all social relationships as I have fewer notifications to contend with.

- I give myself time to be 'bored' and find that makes me less on edge as I have the space to think things through.

10/10, would recommend.
