The way the Recruitment Industry chooses to market Dubai to candidates is pretty useless.
90% of content related to this leans on the idea that Dubai is both tax-free and sunny.
While these points are technically true, they do very little to support or further what is a huge and life-changing decision to relocate internationally.
The tax situation is a variable that comes at the expense of many of the things that you would likely receive in many Western countries.
For example, if you are moving with a large family you can expect to pay higher schooling fees which may offset any tax-free gains.
Dubai is also sunny. This is great during the winter months when the clocks go back and the rest of Europe deals with the cold.
It is less-so in the middle of August when the thermometer starts to push fifty degrees celsius, everyone leaves and going outside becomes a mission in itself.
I’m always extremely honest – as I think we should all be – when someone asks me what Dubai is like.
I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of making the move to do so based on my own personal experience.
Just make sure you are making an informed decision based on the facts of living here as opposed to seeing it as a holiday destination.
Job of the Week.

Mid-Senior Brand Designer (Multiple Openings).
I have several clients based in Dubai looking for Mid-Senior Brand Designers to come onboard and help them out as they continue to grow.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Branding across multiple industries (anything F&B/Governmental is a huge bonus) with agency experience preferred.
The clients I have in mind have a strong presence here in the region and a high retention rate across the team and come across really well as a place to work.
In this position, the successful applicant will be heavily involved in all aspects of design as well as helping manage and mentor the Junior Designers within the team.
As always, an up-to-date portfolio is essential for this position. They are looking to move quickly and the interview process is first stage, task and then final round with a senior member of the team.
Ideally no more than a one-month notice period given the urgent nature of the position.
Please reach out to me on LinkedIn (this email address is not monitored) and I will be happy to chat if your profile matches the requirements.
If you know someone who you think might fit the background, please forward the email on!
