GCC Non-Negotiables
Finding a new role in markets as nuanced as the GCC requires a decent amount of groundwork before interviews even start to take place.
Outside of the obvious things like updating a CV and cleaning up your LinkedIn I’d argue a familiarity with the market in which you are entering is as important.
Put short: it helps to know what you’re getting into.
The skills and techniques required to make an impression in the UAE market are massively different to markets like the UK/US for example.
First impressions are hard to change and so it’s important that you know how to tackle your approach when you begin applying to roles.
Equally, the market here moves at its own unpredictable pace.
If there were three pieces of advice I could share with anyone looking to enter the market, this would be it.
