In the past three days, I’ve uploaded three job adverts. In the space of 72 hours each role had the above number of applicants. Crazy, right?
Yes, they were across three completely different fields but those numbers are not normal in comparison to other global markets.
Anyone that has spent any time here as a jobseeker knows the traditional methods of finding a role do not translate to the UAE market.
Supply (candidates looking for work) massively outweighs demand (roles available).
It’s not uncommon for us to be approached by client’s who have posted a job advert, confident the right candidates will have already applied to them.
The issue is they don’t have the time, tools or resources to even begin to tackle the mountain of applications they have received.
The fact that employers are openly turning away from their own ATS systems, despite them knowing the right candidate will be among the mix, tells all about the current process.
